Our History
1970's - Our Beginnings
The first Ultimate Frisbee club appeared on Villanova's campus during the '76-'77 school year; only a decade after Ultimate Frisbee, now simply called Ultimate, was invented. We quickly developed rivalries with modern day foes such as Lehigh, Pennsylvania, Rutgers, Pittsburgh and Penn State. In 1979, we hosted the Pennsylvania State Championship on Pike field where we still practice today.
During the 1980 season, we faced off against the reigning World Champions, Rowan University, in an away game. Senior Mark Zappy '80 scored twice to open an early 3-1 lead. We would go on to lose 22-3. Later that season, we won a disc throwing competition against the other Big 5 schools ahead of a Phillies game. The competition was followed with a showcase game.

2003-2014 - USAU College Series Era
We began competing in USA Ultimate's college division one regular season and series. The regular season is based on a tournament format where every game and margin of victory counts towards the team's ranking. The top ranked teams in their region earn a bid to the Regional Championship. However, they must defend their bid at the Conference Championship. Similarly, the top teams in the nation earn bids to nationals that they must defend at the Regional Championship.
2015
At the 2015 East Penn D1 Conference Championship, current Head Coach Chris Cruz '15 led the team to upset 4 seed Millersville University to steal their bid to the Ohio Valley Regional Championship. We went on to finish 14th in the region.
2016
Instead of needing to steal a bid like in 2015, the 2016 roster put together the best regular season in program history and secured their own bid to the Regional Championship as well as the number 2 seed at the Conference Championship. Main Line defended their bid Conference Championship to make their way to another Regional Championship.

2021
This season was greatly damaged by the COVID-19 pandemic. Sectionals and Regionals were rescheduled to fall of 2021. Near the end of the spring, practices were approved to resume and we took part in a intra-squad scrimmage co-coached by Chris Cruz and Abby Thompson. Additionally, we welcomed many freshman who look to make an impact on the program moving forward.
